(AMARANTH, ON) Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Amaranth resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a suspicious person call for service.
On January 2, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a male who was standing in the middle of the road holding a dog. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the male. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.
Brandon WYSOCKI, a 25-year-old male, from Amaranth has been charged with:
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs
Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Poss of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 in Canada
Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their drivers licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.
